Is an SSSTS Online Course the Same as in Person?
All of our CITB health and safety courses are now available online, allowing you access our from any environment such as at home, work or any other remote location. We understand that fitting training around your schedule and getting to a training centre can be difficult, or you may want to continue to social distance – which is why online learning is becoming more and more popular.
Our online CITB courses are a great way to progress your career and knowledge around health and safety. The Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) is ideal for those who are new to a supervisory role.The SSSTS online course is presented just how it would be in the classroom, over Zoom. Our Trainers will present the information to you live so you will be able to see them and ask any questions you have throughout. Others will join you on the course so you will be able to take part in group work and class discussions just as you would in person. All of our Trainers have occupational industry experience so understand your challenges working in construction.
What Does the SSSTS Online Training Course Consist Of?
The SSSTS online course takes place over two days and will provide you with information on the latest health and safety procedures and cover topics such as environmental issues and employers legal responsibilities. The career path leads on to the five day Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS).
The SSSTS online course covers areas such as: the role of a supervisor, the UK legal system, Health and Safety legislation, working at height, occupational health, constriction, reporting of injuries, presentation skills and syndicate exercises.
Delegates must attend both days in order to take the 30 minute multiple choice exam at the end of the course and if you are successful, you will be awarded with the CITB SSSTS digital certificate.
You will leave the course with an understanding of the challenges of running a construction site and how to minimise risk. Your certificate is valid for five years and can be renewed by taking the 1 day SSSTS refresher course.
Certificate:
The certificate lasts 5 years and the refresher course needs to be completed before the existing certificate expires. Alternatively, the delegate may look to book a SMSTS course with Target Zero. The CITB certificate takes 2 – 3 weeks and will be emailed to you.
Book Your Place on a SSSTS Online Course
Once you have booked online you will be emailed Joining Instructions, confirming the course details. Before booking, please note that you need to have adequate IT skills and a laptop or computer which has a working microphone and camera (not an IPad or mobile phone).
We ask you to complete an Initial Assessment via a link that is emailed to you. It is a CITB requirement that all delegates have a sufficient level and understanding of English to take the course.
You will receive an email with the Zoom link to the course at 6pm the evening before the course start date. Check your Junk folder and if it has not been received by 8.15am, call us on 0333 444 0018. We recommend downloading Zoom before the course via Google Chrome.
We ask you to log on at 8am to ensure that you don’t have any problems connecting to Zoom. The course starts at 8.30am.
There will be a link in the Joining Instructions for you to complete the Delegate Information Form before attending the course which is a mandatory CITB requirement.
Confirmation of your result will be emailed shortly following the course completion.
The certificate will be emailed within 2 to 3 weeks after the course completion.
