After successful completion of the course, the delegate will reinforce their existing skills regarding relevant health and safety legislation, current guidance and best practice.
Every SMSTS course will cover the following:
- The current focus of the Health and Safety Executive’s attention
- Risk assessment and method statements
- Construction Site Health, Safety and Welfare
- Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (RIDDOR)
- Behavioural safety
- Occupational health
- Overview and changes to the current legislation affecting construction
Certificate:
The certificate lasts 5 years after which the SMST Refresher 2-day course will need to be re-taken before the existing certificate expires.

We ask you to complete an Initial Assessment via a link that is emailed to you. It is a CITB requirement that all delegates have a sufficient level and understanding of English to take the course.
Confirmation of your result will be emailed shortly following the course completion.
